Violin bow stamped "J.K".
This professional-level violin bow, with its octagonal, selected pernambuco stick and elegant, silver-mounted frog, is something of a mystery. It is tempting to assume “J.K.” stands for “Joseph Kun”, but there are no records of this stamp being used by the late Canadian master bow maker. Whatever its origins, it performs very well indeed, with clear articulation at the tip, a lively spiccato and sautillé, and a full, steady, warm legato, despite its relatively light weight. Without a definitive provenance, it is being offered at a very attractive price.
