Unlabelled German Violin

SKU: S667

This unlabelled European violin, made in the Vogtland area of northeast Germany around 1900 or a little later, follows the French Mirecourt style, with its warm brown, evenly-applied varnish and crisply-cut edges. The tone is rich but focused, and the response is resonant and easy to access. The E string is particularly warm, a pleasing characteristic when so many instruments in this quality range can be more forceful in the higher registers. This violin will make a very reliable instrument for lower-to-middle grade students advancing into their first serious full-sized violin.
