Finkel violin bow stamped “F. C. NEUVEVILLE”, Switzerland

The Finkel bow making workshop in Brienz had its origin in mid-nineteenth century Markneukirchen before Siegfried Finkel-Weidhass relocated after WWII to avoid the East German Communist regime.  Hard work and determination along with Siegfried’s bow making skills assured the success of the new workshop whose history now spans five generations of archetiers.  Their “F.C. NEUVILLE” bows use their finest selected pernambuco and rank just below their top named bows by Martin Fischer and Daniele Finkel.  This lovely is very steady on the string and produces a warm, creamy sound, with a flexible stick and great articulation.
