Founded after WWII in Brienz, Switzerland, the Finkel bow making workshop, under the leadership of Siegried Finkel, has established an international name for excellent workmanship and playability. As well as their master bows, made by three generations of the Finkel family, the workshop also produces high-quality bows for advanced students, such as this “Atelier Finkel” violin bow, made from selected pernambuco wood and with silver fittings. Balance and legato are excellent, drawing a full, creamy sound, with plenty of strength in the stick for vigorous playing. Spiccato and sautillé are clean and very accessible.
