The nineteenth century in Europe saw an explosion in home music making, with the violin becoming so popular the instrument making workshops of North East Germany and what is now the Czech Republic producing hundreds of thousands of violins every year. Although this example, based loosely on the work of Antonio Stradivari, has no label, it is distinguished by a handsome flamed back and a lovely tone, vibrant, rich and colourful across all registers. The violin speaks easily and rewards all variations in bow pressure.
