Andrea Cabrini violin, Cremona, 2022

SKU: C888

Andrea Cabrini graduated from the International School of Violin Making Antonio Stradivari in Cremona in 1991, then worked with the master violin maker Francesco Bisselotti, a pupil of Pietro Sgarabotto before setting up his own workshop in the heart of Cremona. His work, as a result, is firmly grounded in the traditional Cremonese methods of violin making, which he still strongly adheres to, creating models based on Stradivari, Guarneri del Gesu, Nicolo Amati and Giovanni Battiste Guadagnini as well as his own interpretations. On his website https://www.cabriniviolins.com/en/andrea-cabrini-2/ he explains that, for him, each of his instruments represents a challenge, from the selection of wood to the model. Special attention is always given to the sound and ease of use. He frequently collaborates with professional musicians, who help him refine his construction techniques to achieve the best acoustic results. This lovely violin has a powerful, lively, colourful sound which also combines smoothness and warmth, along with an expansive brilliance in the upper registers.  It will make an excellent instrument for emerging young professional players.
