Arcos Brasil “M. Pereira” Brazilian violin bow

Arcos Brasil was founded in 1995 to develop Brazilian bow making expertise and market it around the world. One of their senior bowmakers, Marcos Pereira, started working with bows at twelve years old, and graduated to making his own bows six years later, refining his skills in the workshop of Belgian archetier Pierre Guillaume, before joining Arcos Brasil. This silver-mounted violin bow is a fine example of Pereira’s mid-range work, its round, pernambuco stick executed in the French style. Fast legato strokes are particularly steady on the string, and spiccato and sautillé are readily achieved. All in all, this is an excellent bow for the price.
