Florian Schaeffer one of Brazil’s best bow makers, founded his bow making workshop FF Schaeffer’s in the city of Aracruz, on the coast north of Rio de Janiero, professional grade bows from sustainable yields of pernambuco wood. This advanced student bow shares its clean, skilful workmanship from its crisp “Peccatte” style head to its well-finished frog, with more expensive bows in their range. It’s no slouch, either, in terms of its playability, pulling a warm, creamy, full tone combined with clean articulation and a very ready, controllable spiccato and sautillé.
