Jay Hiade “L’ancienne Special Model” Eurowood cello, 2023

In 1992, Jay Ifshin and his workshop foreman Haide Lin decided to combine names and violin-making talents and develop their own “Jay Haide” instruments, after being frustrated in their search for good-quality student violins, violas, and cellos.  After years of research and development, their expertise and skills produced their flagship range of “L’ancienne” instruments of which their handsome “Special Model” cello is a fine example.  The tone is clear and powerful, with a broad range of colours and with good projection.  It will make a great choice for an advancing student looking for a good performing instrument.
