D Carvalho Arcos, Brazil, silver-mounted cello bow

Arcos Brasil was founded in 1996 to bring together a new, talented generation of bow makers, some of the best available pernambuco wood in Brazil and a fully-committed conservation programme to help preserve and sustain this crucial and endangered tree. The programme has propagated, planted and distributed over 200,000 pernambuco seedlings, 20,000 of which have now reached maturity. This elegantly finished, silver-mounted cello bow, stamped D Carvalho, is handmade from well-selected pernambuco in the Arcos Brasil workshop, and will suit students advancing through the higher grades and early diploma levels. We are very impressed with the playability and quality of workmanship in relation to the price.
