SIC Showcase

The String Quartet Showcase aims to share the love and beauty of the string quartet with young string players in Auckland, guiding and encouraging musicians at this level to discover the heart of chamber music.

We were inspired to hold this showcase after seeing the string quartet losing ground, and we would like to turn that around by providing an opportunity for string quartets to perform in a professional environment. All participants will get the opportunity to receive coaching from some of the top string players in New Zealand, as well as performing in the UoA School of Music Theatre.

Joining Cath and her husband Alan are Miranda Adams and Robert Ashworth from the APO and the Jade String Quartet, James Yoo from the University of Auckland and the Jade String Quartet, Mark Bennett from the University of Auckland, and violinists and teachers John Thomson and Brecon Carter.
