Unlabelled German Stradivari-copy violin

SKU: S533

Many of the violins made in the Vogtland workshops of Markneukirchen and Klingenthal in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century have antiqued varnish that makes them appear even older than they are. This attractive violin is a good example of that genre, such was – and still is - the mystique of the seventeenth and eighteenth century instruments made in Cremona’s “golden” period. “Old” is often considered synonymous with “better”, and in this case, the tone of this “Stradivari” copy lives up to its appearance – clear, smooth and warm across all four strings.
