1/2 Ezabel violin outfit, China/Belgium 2019
“Ezabel” violins are made in China for Roland Eeckelaard, a Belgian luthier based in Antwerp, who then sets them up and sells them under his own label. Some are made with Chinese wood, and some with European wood. This example uses a mix—European spruce and maple for the body, and Chinese maple for the neck and head. The tone is very good for a half-sized violin, with clarity and resonance on all four strings. It comes with an oblong case, and a reasonable Chinese bow.
