German violin labelled "Stradvarius"

SKU: S563

This attractive, cleanly-made violin was produced in one of the larger workshops in Mirecourt, the French violin-making town responsible for making so many thousands of instruments of all qualities, from the mid-nineteenth well into the twentieth century. The honey-coloured varnish, subtly shaded to suggest wear, is in remarkable condition, given that the violin was made over a century ago. The tone is clear, with a charming sweetness across all four strings.
