16 5/8" Pierluigi Galetti viola, Cremona 1968
SKU: S590
Cremonese violin maker Pierluigi Galetti was inspired to become a luthier by no less than Simone Sacconi, one of the most erudite and gifted violin makers and restorers of the mid-twentieth century. Following in Sacconi’s footsteps, Galetti developed a strong understanding of Stradivari’s tools and working methods, passing on his knowledge by teaching at the Cremona International Violin Making School, as well as making bold and characterful copies of Old Italian instruments, including those of Testore, after whose work this full-toned, robust and versatile viola is modelled. Played for many years by a professional violist, this instrument will prove an excellent working partner for an advanced student or emerging professional player.
